| The 16th JF episode "Friend's Don't Fade Away", airs Monday June 16 @ 8:00 PM on Toon Disney. - Quote :
- After his last battle with Dai Shi, RJ has major problems controlling his animal spirit. He turns into a werewolf and becomes a big threat to anyone around him. RJ learns to lean on his friends and not run away from them when he has a problem. In the evil temple, Dai Shi is overthrown as Grizzaka refuses to take orders from any human.
^So looks like we get some tension between Jarrod/Dai Shi and Grizzaka, RJ's rampage in his Werewolf form, and...Wolf Ranger! Pre-discussion starts Saturday1

| I think everyone needs to calm down a bit, lol. It's just a outside writer, which probably might make the rest of the season more better. I've heard scabs tend to contribute more feeling into their writing... | |

| This was such an entertaining episode. The only thing I wish they could have explained was more about the Wolf Morpher, and why he was keep this important possession so secret. Also, the "Kiwi" monster was annoying...period.
Grizzaka's entrance was brilliant! I like how he just came in and laid down law point blank. I hope the writer's don't screw up his character. 10,000 years...seriously? Man, a lot of events sure did take place 10,000 years ago...
There's always something about adding the "News" in Power Rangers that adds a nice effect to the show IMO. The chemistry between and RJ and Fran in the loft was well done, it had some pretty nice dialog going on. The fact that we already knew what was in the box wasn't surprising, but a lot of kids were probably anxious...
RJ's unmorphed fight with Kiwi monster went smooth. Then out of nowhere Casey shows up...with the bike.....grinding, lol. Can't believe some people thought it was destroyed.
Back at the loft, that RJ/Fran chemistry showed it's light again. Simply beautiful! I'm sure a lot of the " Ranger Romance" fans enjoyed their scenes together. And then came the event everyone's been waiting for..."Jungle Fury, Wolf Ranger!" His fight was a bit slow, but not to where it wasn't enjoyable. I like that they somewhat kept the Muay Thai fighting style. The laser knee attack added a nice touch, it was very Power Ranger-ish.
Any way, FDFA gave us the hype most of us were expecting. One scab out...a lot more to come. Let's hope they continue this trend for the rest of the season. A high 4/5.

| Okay, Friends Don't Fade Away
- Man, these villains just keep on sucking and sucking. - So they are calling Dorinki "Sokado", eh? - Were those paramedics? Hmm, for the minute there, it actually made the villains look like an actual threat. - The scene between Fran and RJ was shippertastic. - Wh-Where did the Wolf Morpher come from? I was it collecting in that box? Why didn't RJ bust it out when it could have been useful? - That morph was sweet! - Now that is real fighting. - Laser Knees? LASER KNEES?! - Yes!! Flit back!! Now this episode just got even better. - Why was the Monkey guy attacking Lily? - So Dai Shi has tap into Sokado? Whatever.
Overall, I'm giving this a "Okay". For a "Sixth" Ranger debut, it was pretty mild. Didn't feel all that special, it was just, "Oh, RJ a Ranger now." And this Dai Shi/Jarrod nonsnese is really ticking me off. Is he an evil human? Dai Shi in a human shell? Both consciousnesses fuse together to form something else? Why am I asking these questions? Do you know the Muffin Man? The Muffin Man?! The Muffin Man?!? Why do I even bother? The writers clearly don't care, so I should I?
Ramble alittle, this gets a "Okay."

| First episode without Bruce!...Yay!.
- The whole Theo no shoes thing was stupid to me - So is it Sokado? or Zorkado? - Fran & RJ = Awsomeness. - Okay so you turn into a Wolf and attack Fran then it goes away and that's it? you just go to save your friends?....wasn't feelings that part. -They should have gave a BG story on the Wolf Morpher - Once again i am confused by Dai Shi/Jarod thing who's in control? - I like Monkiwi *runs* - Laser Knees and Arms? WTF! - Yes!! Flit back!!. -They followed Geki to even the part were Rio got the Dorinki?...Awesomeness but i am tired of Jarrod.
Overall, I'm giving this a 8 it could have been better off as a two parter.

| Laser knees=F*** yes.
I thought the episode was painfully average. I hope they explain the Wolf Morpher's origin in a later episode. |

| I personally found this episode average because as far as new Ranger debuts go, this one wasn't really anything special, like they never made it a big deal. You just don't get that special fangasam feeling. There's was no build-up to Wolf Ranger at all, it was just, "RJ's animal spirit is under control now, now he's going to use that morpher that just been sitting in his cabinat for some time." | |

It felt rushed, more than anything. "FRAN HELD MY HAND! I'M A RANGER NOW!" irked me slightly, although I liked that Fran was useful. Overall, it felt too compacted and should've been a two parter at the most. |

You and I have seen Gekiranger, and we both know how semi-complex the plot was. Gou was a whole new character, while RJ is already a main character of the series. The build-up started in GOAC (werewolf-wise), and it continued through BTTB and FDFA. And about the Wolf Morpher sitting in the closet...I'll give you credit for that part. I still say if he had have used earlier, it would have been too soon. However, they could have added more plot/character development if he were WR earlier. Technically (and I've said this several times), RJ isn't in complete control of his spirit. Like Gou, it's gonna take an internal battle within to defeat his cursed Beast form. We'll see that in TFTS (lesson 27). - Gerbil wrote:

I have to give them credit though, it's Sentai plot was extremely busy, and introducing a new Ranger in a one parter was risky. They pulled it off IMO (with a few ticks here and there). I think originality was the key here. I'll credit you for the "Hand to hand" motive (it reminded me a lot of the "tear that magically brings back life." What would you have rather have happened: Hand to hand? Or the usual, "look within yourself" route? IF it were a two parter, the internal fight would have been pure epic!

Yes. Would have. But it wasn't. But, I'll forgive it if they properly explain the Wolf Morpher in the episodes to come. |
